Here’s your second story of the day. Hope it’s been a good Christmas – lots of love from your family at Fellowship North!
Prince of Peace
I have loved music since I was a child. Music of all types. I grew up singing and playing instruments; around a campfire or in a symphony orchestra, I love music.
What I love is that sometimes a piece of music makes a connection inside my soul. Something in the melody or in the lyrics connects with something deep inside of me. It is transcendent.
This song today did that several years ago. It’s a single voice and piano, singing the words of Isaiah 9. I had forgotten about it until a dear friend reminded me a few weeks ago.
I found my copy of it last week and have played it over and over the last few days because it still speaks to my soul. It reminds me of the HOPE we have in Christ. I need to be reminded over and over these days:
The people who walk in darkness will see a great light
and those who live in a dark land, light will shine
They’ll be glad in your presence
as with the gladness of harvest
For you shall break the yoke of the burden from their shoulders
Unto us a child is born
Unto us a Son is given
And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Prince of Peace
Merry Christmas to you!
Today’s story is by Donna Hall; one of her favorite Christmas songs is linked below.
Donna helps Fellowship North operate creatively and efficiently in the areas of communication, visual art, worship, and hospitality. She works best behind the scenes, putting pieces together to make a complete picture for Sunday morning services and the church as a whole. She loves good movies, TV, theater, or books, and spending time with her friends and family.
