May You Find The Light
My wife has told you that I like Christmas music. The middle school kind of like – I like-like it. She’s not wrong. This year, my collection of holiday tunes eclipsed the 3,000 mark. If you’d like to listen to all of it, you would need to set aside 188 hours to do so. So I got a little overwhelmed when I was asked to pick a favorite song.
Y’all, the struggle was real. I considered a classic like Cheech & Chong’s “Santa Claus and His Old Lady” – it’s a must-listen song every year. “Come On Ring Those Bells” makes me jolly every time I hear it. How about Stevie Wonder’s new version of “Someday At Christmas”?
One of my favorite things about collecting holiday tunes is when people share new ones with me. A couple of years ago Donna Hall shared a holiday album from a band called The Brilliance with me and it blew me away. Their music is simple and beautiful, perfect for when you need the holiday season to slow down a bit. I hope that you’ll like them as much as I do.
Today’s story is by Bryan Jones, and we’ve linked to one of his favorite Christmas songs below.
Bryan Jones is married to Sarabeth and they have 3 kids: Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Will. He runs a behavior change shop (yes, please ask him what that means) called Extra Awesome. He’s an elder at FN, which means you might see him putting out cones in the parking lot on Sundays. Or you can catch him upstairs hanging out with his small group at Elevate.
