You know, there’s a funny side effect to working at a church (at least for me). Sometimes, you miss just going to church. Showing up and having someone else lead. Certainly I am led by other people here, but part of my brain is always thinking about everything that’s going on that morning. And really, most of the time I like it that way. But I also really enjoy the chances I have to get away and be led spiritually by other teachers and artists. A part of me relaxes then and soaks the experience up in different ways that I do on Sundays here. And that’s good.
A couple of weeks ago, our two fearless Peak Ministries leaders (Peak = middle and high school, so I’m talking about Taido and Bobby here) got to have an experience that I’m sure was just as refreshing for them. They traveled to Vancouver to a pastor’s conference on preaching – and while I’m pretty sure I’d love Vancouver, I’m not so sure about the ‘pastors on preaching’ part. That’s why it was great for me to read their perspectives on their time away. Thought you might enjoy them too…
I have felt nothing but humility and honor to be walking and talking and living and learning where I am right now. I have experienced nothing but grace to be a little part of God’s greater story. (from Bobby’s post)
You can read more from Bobby’s post, and check out Taido’s viewpoint. Enjoy your time in Vancouver…
