Do you enjoy your Sunday mornings at Fellowship North? Want to know how to make them even better? Just add kids.
We have an amazing team of folks who serve our children on Sunday mornings. Here’s what two of them had to say about it.
Zach Jeffery: I’ll have to admit that when I first decided to serve in Route 54, I was a little reluctant. Getting up extra early on Sunday morning wasn’t a top priority. However it didn’t take me long to see that working with the children is not a chore, it is a privilege. There is not a more rewarding hour in my week. By leading these children in the lessons of righteousness I am able to see more clearly the need for action in my own life. And there is not much better than seeing the children come on Sunday morning just as happy to see me as I am them. That’s why I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in children’s ministries. Zach will be in Route 54 again this year co-leading our 4th grade boys with Ben Register.
Melissa Hurst: We have a wonderful children’s program! I, personally, love working with the kids for a number of reasons: 1) it keeps me connected. I used to feel like an outsider that just showed up for church and went back home. I didn’t know anyone and was kind of a loner! Being involved with the kids has allowed me the opportunity to meet people I would have, otherwise, never interacted with. 2) It’s such a blessing! Those kids just do something to you. Its fun to see them blossom, physically, but most important, spiritually. You can see God move in their little lives, and it’s so encouraging! I do have to admit there are some challenges, however. To put it nicely, the kids sometimes test your patience. It’s good, though, that you guys are there to back us up when we need you. In my experience, the good times have astronomically outweighed the bad! I think anyone who is even considering working with the kids should come visit us some Sunday, or even give it a trial run. I’m sure they won’t be disappointed! Melissa will be hanging out with 4th grade girls this year and would love to have a co-leader to share the adventure with.
Our team is almost complete, and we would love for you to join us. Email me at jholsted@fellowshipnorth.net and I’ll be happy to answer all your questions.
