This Sunday we kick off our fall programs for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grades. We have an amazing team of folks who love and lead our kids every week. Here’s what one of them has to say about it.
Alicia Emmerling: Here are my thoughts on “why I serve in Fellowship Student Ministries”:
OBLIGATION: With all four of our kids growing up in the wonderful ministry of FSM, I have felt an obligatory need to do my part. We have subbed in many different areas and worked the summer months, but had never landed somewhere permanently. What began as giving in to an obligation, turned into an adventure that was not only entertaining and enjoyable, but one filled with challenges and blessings for me! The kids I have had the privilege to work with have touched my heart so deeply, and they don’t even realize it!
GRATITUDE: We are so thankful for the people that have led our children over the years and for this ministry that is available to our kids. We want to show our thankfulness by doing our part.
JESUS SAID TO: We are loving Him by serving them. I also love that we are being examples to our own children as they see us work in this ministry.
IT’S NOT HARD: Lessons are preplanned, it does not take a lot of time and it’s very flexible. When you have to be gone, it’s OK. We have great substitutes to fill in! On another note, MOST kids act good at church! Talking when kids should be listening is the biggest issue we have had to deal with.
IT’S FUN!
Alicia and her friend Sharon Stuff will be going on an adventure with the 2nd grade girls this year. We are still looking for just the right people to complete our team. Interested? Contact me at jholsted@fellowshipnorth.net or call 779-5926.
