Katrina Curruth just graduated from Henderson State University with a general studies degree. For her degree, she had 4 areas of emphasis: sociology, psychology, social science, and education. What did she learn from all that? That she really enjoys working with kids!
We are so excited to have Katrina join us this summer as the site supervisor for Good Eats – the summer feeding program for kids that began last year at FN. Although she is only 23, she is ready to lead the program, bringing with her several years worth of experience working at camps in Missouri and at other, similar summer programs in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. She knows the challenges involved in leading and the time it takes kids to get used to someone new. However, Katrina says what she is most excited about is building relationships – with the kids, and with all of us at FN. Although she’s been a part of Fellowship North since her senior year of high school, she’s been away at school or summer jobs much of that time. So next time you see her around – say hello and introduce yourself. You’ll be glad you did (and she will too)!
Fun fact about Katrina: Her birthday is the 4th of July!
